PRCA MENA announces Young Lions PR competition in partnership with Cannes Lions

PRCA MENA is pleased to announce that it has partnered with Cannes Lions for the second year running to be the Cannes Lions PR Partner for the Middle East and North Africa.

The competition will see teams of two individuals aged 30 and under enter the competition. The region’s competition will open for entries on 1st February and close on 26th February.

All entrants will respond to a brief created by charity in the region, over the course of one working day (1st March). The submitted presentations and written submissions will then be judged by a jury and a shortlist of six campaigns will be invited to Dubai to deliver a five-minute presentation to the jury, explaining the campaign and the written submission.

Once in Cannes, the competing national teams will be set a brief by a national charity that will act as the ‘client’. The aim of the 24-hour competition is to show how PR and communications are effectively used to engage audiences with an organisation or a specific topic that the ‘client’ is dealing with and the MENA winners will be announced on 23rd March.

Francis Ingham, Director General, PRCA MENA, said: “PRCA MENA is committed to promoting and demonstrating the value of PR and communications in the region. The Young PR Lions competition allows us to do exactly that – show off the calibre of PR and communications practitioners in the Middle East and North Africa.”
