JOB TITLE: SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER

REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR

Role Description:

Responsible for the day-to-day management of client accounts and a range of public relations and marketing activities. Overseeing the performance of your team and supporting the directors and liaising with media actively to promote the interests of clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Senior Account Manager, you will be responsible for:

Team Leadership & Delivery Oversight
• Ensure comprehensive briefs and scopes of work are developed and approved for all projects.
• Oversee all work undertaken – make sure it is aligned to the brief, delivered on time and meets client and agency expectations for creativity and execution.
• Supervise account teams to ensure efficient delivery of the projects with clear roles and responsibilities assigned.
• Ensure team is supported and has capacity to deliver on clients’ plans.

Team Growth and Mentorship
• Oversee best practice standards for the growing account team, ensure Account Managers and Account Executives are aware of their roles and responsibilities for the assigned accounts, and able to provide clients with a consistently high standard of service.
• Mentor and coach the account team to help develop their skills and experience.
• Set goals and objectives for each team member, over a set period of time, conduct regular reviews and assess progress and other professional development needs.
• Support in recruiting new team members, as and when necessary.

Account Management
• Be the key day-to-day point of contact for all clients and be able to provide them with tailored, strategic and communications advice – leading meetings, delivering presentations and ensuring smooth running of the account and open lines of communication.
• Working on a range of public relations and marketing activities, including research, writing, event planning.
• Development and presentation of annual PR and marketing strategies and programmes and necessary budgetary support documentation.

 

• Constant development and updating of personal knowledge of clients’ products and activities
• Execution of agreed programmes and of work within contracted hours.
• Ensuring that expenditure is tracked and budgets monitored and managed.
• Management of time input to each client’s account, ensuring that agreed hours and scope of work is delivered.
• Overseeing the workload and delivery of your team.
• Contribute to the mentoring and professional development of junior account staff.
• Relationship building and networking with colleagues, clients and the media
• Help managing and mentoring junior team members and interns

Account Handling
• Dealing with enquiries from media contacts.
• Researching, writing and distributing press releases and features to targeted media.
• Proactively selling stories and itinerary ideas to media targets through face-to-face meetings, attendance at networking events and regular communication.
• Researching angles and writing press releases and other communication pieces.
• Monitoring all media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires and blogs for coverage and opportunities for clients.
• Collating, analysing and evaluating media coverage
• Preparing regular client reports and attending client meetings.
• Co-ordinating studio or location photography
• Online PR and social media marketing campaigns.
• Working with designers, producers and other specialists

Social Media
• Day-to-day point of contact for clients whose social media the agency manages and accountability for all social media accounts managed by team.
• Social media strategy and planning.
• Day to day implementation and management of social media.
• Support social media team with content creation for social media.
• Attending client meetings with social media team as required
• Collating coverage and preparing social media reports for clients as required.

Events
• Management, organisation and hosting of events, including screenings, press conferences, round tables, product launches, promotional events and press trips
• Attendance at trade and consumer shows.
• Manning clients’ stands at exhibitions as required and providing information to visitors, trade and media

Partnerships and Promotions
• Researching, evaluating and implementing promotional and sponsorship opportunities in line with clients’ objectives, and with consideration of brand values and guidelines.

CRM
• Planning, scheduling and implementation of press and consumer mailings for clients with the marketing/database team.
• Support with the management of mailing lists for both media and trade contacts on behalf of the agency and its clients.

 

Research
• Use of the Internet and other resources for research purposes.

New Business Development
• Working as a key part of the TishTash new business team. Assisting with new business opportunities and making use of industry contacts to develop TishTash’s reputation and client base.
• Idea generation, research and presentations for new client pitches
• Attending and presenting in new client pitches and being actively involved in the tendering process.

Misc
• Undertaking additional support and administrative tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• University degree (ideally)
• 5-8 years industry experience, ideally agency side
• 2 years minimum line management experience
• Strong leadership and project management skills
• Pro-active approach, self starter with “can do” attitude
• Good working knowledge of consumer media
• A natural ability to develop strong relationships with key media contacts and stakeholders
• Strong writing skills – press releases, feature pitches, media plans and briefing documents
• Experience of social media campaigns and planning
• Excellent client servicing and reporting skills
• Ability to add value, creative and strategic thinking to new and existing clients
• Highly organized
• Familiar with all Microsoft packages
• Whilst not essential, bilingual is an asset
