PRCA MENA launches membership offering in Lebanon

The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) MENA has announced the launch of PRCA Lebanon.

PRCA Lebanon will be the latest chapter of PRCA MENA, the professional membership association representing PR and communications consultancies, in-house communications teams, and individuals throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa.

PRCA Lebanon will be chaired by Beirut-based industry leaders Suzanne Talhouk MPRCA, General Manager, Levant, H+K Strategies, Joumana Rizk-Yarak MPRCA, Managing Director, Mirros and Myrna Abou Mrad el Khoury MPRCA, CEO, The Full Circles. The new chapter will draw on the PRCA’s considerable resources, and 50 years of experience representing the industry.

Founding members include leading Lebanese consultancies Asdaa BCW, H+K Strategies, MIRROS Communication & Media Services, Quantum, and The Full Circles.

PRCA Lebanon will enable members to share best practice, engage in world class training, network with like-minded professionals, and help to raise standards in the industry. Working alongside other countries within the PRCA MENA network and as a member of ICCO (International Communications Consultancy Organisation), PRCA Lebanon will provide an international framework within which its members can develop global networks and links to the rest of MENA, the UK, and the wider world.

Suzanne Talhouk MPRCA, General Manager, Levant, H+K Strategies, said: “I believe that the time has come to organise and structure the PR industry to empower its professionals. Being a board member of PRCA MENA in Lebanon is one step in the right direction to empower the PR industry in my country and make clear its crucial role to brand reputation, content creation and customer engagement. It is a platform that acts as reference, consultant, and even an incubator that helps PR people grow, transform and learn.”

Joumana Rizk- Yarak MPRCA, Managing Director, MIRROS Communication & Media Services, said: “This is an exciting time to be in the communications and media business, with the world smaller and connectivity stronger today than ever before. I have no doubt that membership of the PRCA will bolster our efforts to give the worthy news stories and achievements we produce a well-deserved global platform, while providing us with a welcome international industry support network.”

Myrna Abou Mrad el Khoury MPRCA, CEO, The Full Circles, said: “Joining a leading PR association will give us a different outlook on the evolution of the industry regionally and globally, the key trends and the case studies making an impact so we try and change our local perspective on PR, which is still often confused with networking and guest invitations. We hope that with our joint efforts, we can change the conversation”.

Melissa Cannon MPRCA, General Manager, PRCA MENA, said: “Lebanon is an important hub for PR and communications excellence in the Middle East, and it is very exciting for the PRCA to be playing a part in its future growth and development. I would like to invite the entire PR and communications industry in Lebanon to get involved and have your say in the issues that matter most to you.”

PRCA Lebanon is holding its launch event on Tuesday, 25th June, 2019 at The Gathering, Pasteur Street, Gemmayze, Beirut, from 18:30 to 21:00. Join us for an evening of insights and networking as we consider: What is PR and why is it important? What is PR’s role in the changing media landscape? How can PR raise standards?
