Dubai PR agency The Romans turns I – celebrates with giant cake Colosseum!

Global creative PR agency, The Romans celebrated its first anniversary in the UAE in epically tasty fashion by baking up what is thought to be the biggest ever Roman Colosseum made out of cake!

Designed and brought to life by Abu Dhabi mother-and-daughter master bakers, YummyBakes, the colossal cake measured a whopping 70x70cm at its widest and was a mix of delicious vanilla and chocolate sponge with a rich Belgian chocolate ganache on top.

The cake marked one-year since The Romans opened its doors in the UAE – the multi-award-winning creative PR agency’s third global office, after expanding into New York in early 2022 following nearly a decade of success out of London.

And it’s safe to say The Romans Dubai – led by Partner Alexandra Dewar – is heading into their second year on solid footing after a gladiatorial effort in their first 12 months saw them win a string of clients across F&B, hospitality, technology, and healthcare.

“This first year has been incredible both from a growth and learning perspective. Today, we are celebrating the strong foundations we’ve built and our continued growth as an agency in the UAE and wider Middle East region,” says Dewar, who is actively recruiting after several recent client wins.

During its launch year, The Romans worked with YummyBakes – mother Samia Madani and daughter Mira Sleiman – for a client campaign. YummyBakes’ show-stopping cake designs have built the duo a massive online following, where their mind-blowing bakes are regularly shared by thousands of people on social media – and have helped them grow a sizeable customer base across the region, too.

“Working with Samia and Mira earlier this year was a real joy: we clicked straight away, probably because we’re both in the line of making cool things happen by being creative,” added Dewar. “Asking them to bake this incredible Roman-themed cake to mark our first anniversary made perfect sense!”
