The “Bulletproof Mindset”: How experiencing negative emotions can work for you, instead of against you

Hello from someone outside the PR world.

My name is Claudia and I am a Life Coach. My core purpose is to help my clients create a “bulletproof mindset”. I spend most of my time exploring people’s minds, uncovering the reason why they don’t have the results they want most in their life and provide them with the tools to
create powerful, long-lasting change.

Up-Levelling Your Mind

So I know a thing or two about people’s experiences of the world and what causes them to suffer unnecessarily and how possible it is to change that; so please hear me when I say, if you don’t feel good enough in your job, constantly feeling overwhelmed with your workload or feel there is a lot of pressure on you to do ‘well’, just know you are not alone and I know from personal experience, this is true.

What those emotions actually mean is that your brain is functioning the way it was built to. That’s right! Unfortunately, our brains aren’t designed to make us ‘happy’. Your brain has evolved from a time where its primary role was to look for the worst-case scenario in everything and stop you from taking that action to keep you alive. The worst-case scenario used to be the fear of famine or even a tiger hunting you down, but fast forward to today and those associations of fears are no longer true, they need updating and our minds to be up-levelled. However, this is what stops you from believing you can do something you haven’t done before, having the confidence to walk into a room and not worry what people think about you and so much more.

The only problem you have now is the way you interpret the feelings you experience.

How do I know?… because anyone with a human brain experiences the fear of not being accepted, loved or good enough, even if they don’t talk about it. It’s a natural instinct from the primal part of your brain to create these types of thoughts, but it’s what you make it mean that determines the actions and the results it creates in your life.

“Overnight success” is an accumulation of failures.

Thomas Edison failed 1,000 times before the lightbulb was invented but he didn’t make not meeting his expectation 1,000 times a problem. He recognised that the only time you fail is when you give up, and whilst it took 1,000 times to create, it didn’t mean he was incapable or that it was
impossible to achieve, it meant every time he was a step closer to finding out what would finally work.

Food for Thought

To date, your brain is the most powerful tool you have, but you haven’t been taught how to use it, YOU CAN unlock your mind to create more of the life you want for yourself. Through your own experiences and societal expectations, you’ve unconsciously associated negative feelings like fear, self-doubt and overwhelm as something that has gone wrong in your life. These feelings are also the catalyst for hindering your successes in life – finding reasons and excuses not to do the things because those feelings make you uncomfortable. Somehow it now feels like the truth and you accept that this is who you are as a person because you aren’t taught how to think or feel about certain situations. So much so, you don’t even realise the way you feel is a choice and that you have the power to create what you want in life.

The “Bulletproof Mindset” Approach

When you give yourself the opportunity to understand how your mind works, develop the skills to manage it and apply the tools to interrupt the patterns to purposefully create a better life for yourself, you can redefine what you want your experience to be and how you want to use those emotions to serve you.

I want you to have something actionable to take away and apply to your life today; A ‘negative’ or uncomfortable emotion is not ‘bad’, just different to the light fluffy ones you prefer to experience. Negative emotions have a purpose. Its purpose is a message for you to take action, to evolve into
more of the person you want to become and create the life you want to live. Whether that’s changing the way you are interpreting something or changing an action you are taking.

You can do this by taking time to reflect to find the reason why you are doing or not doing something, this will create awareness.

That may sound simplistic, but when you realise the reason you do anything in your life is because of the way you think you will feel in the achieving of it or the reason you don’t do something is because of a feeling you are trying to avoid, you can understand what it is you really want. Then you can use your emotions to create your life on purpose, thus creating the “Bulletproof Mindset”.

If you feel stuck, confused, need some guidance or know you are meant for more in this life but are
unsure where to start, I would love to chat with you.
