Purpose:

The PRCA, CNN Academy and Middlesex University are teaming up to produce a joint event for PRCA members, communications professionals, graduates and alumni to explore the evolving career in journalism and multiplatform storytelling.

We will be joined by Middlesex University’s Lecturer at the School of Media, Stephen King and CNN Abu Dhabi’s Chief Editor, Becky Anderson who’ll share best-practice advice on multiplatform storytelling and how journalism is and will continue to evolve. Becky Anderson will speak about her career in journalism and shed light on the CNN Academy, a global first and opportunity for journalists of the future to learn about multiplatform storytelling through a 5-week program at CNN’s Abu Dhabi bureau.

Becky Anderson

Becky Anderson is one of CNN International’s highest profile anchors. She hosts Connect the World with Becky Anderson, which airs weekdays at 7:00pm UAE time. She is based at CNN’s Abu Dhabi bureau, where she also serves as Chief Editor. Anderson is a skilled interviewer, adept at close questioning and has interviewed many of the world’s leading politicians, decision-makers and thought-leaders. She has conducted one-on-one interviews with top world leaders including Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Jubeir, Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed Al Thani, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and leading humanitarian leaders such as UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Stephen King

Stephen holds a master’s degree in Global Governance and Sustainable Development from Middlesex University Dubai and a bachelor’s degree in Advertising and Marketing from Lancaster University. He is a Teach SDGs ambassador and a Climate Reality Voluntary Leader. Stephen teaches within our journalism, advertising and PR, and digital media programmes and his research interests include sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, digital and video communications, and public diplomacy.

The session is aimed at PRCA members, communications professionals, graduates and alumni who all have an interest in multiplatform storytelling and journalism of the future.
