PRCA MENA Mental Health Steering Committee

Welcome to the PRCA MENA Mental Health Steering Committee!

Our mission is to advance mental health awareness, support, and best practices within the PR and communications industry across the MENA region.

We aim to promote a supportive environment, foster growth, and enhance knowledge around mental health.

Committee Chair: John Ryenhart, Managing Director at Seven Media

Purpose of the Steering Committee

  • Strategic Planning: Setting long-term goals and objectives for PRCA MENA to improve awareness and support of mental health within the industry in the region.
  • Policy Development: Crafting policies that promote best practice, ethical standards, and local regulatory compliance in mental health care in PR/communications industry.
  • Professional Development: Promoting educational opportunities and resources for mental health to enhance awareness, knowledge and understanding of mental health.
  • Networking and Collaboration: Facilitating partnerships and collaborations with the mental health sector and with other relevant bodies/partners/influencers.
  • Research and insights: Identifying and promoting new research, trends, tools, and technologies in mental health care within the PR/communications industry.

Criteria for Joining the Committee

Experience: Candidates should have a genuine passion for and substantial experience in mental health.

Diversity: We seek a diverse representation in terms of gender, ethnicity, and cultural background to ensure the committee mirrors the industry’s demographics.

Commitment: Members must show a strong dedication to advancing mental health support in the industry and be prepared to actively engage in committee activities and programs.

Reputation: Preference will be given to individuals with high ethical standards and a solid professional reputation.

Skills and Expertise: We value specific skills and areas of expertise that contribute to a well-rounded committee, capable of addressing various mental health challenges within the industry.
