Joanna Agnew
Joanna is an award-winning integrated Communications Consultant with almost 20 years’ experience across the Middle East and Europe.
Prior to joining Tales & Heads, Joanna was Vice President of the Consumer practice at a major WPP communications agency based in the UAE and covering the Middle East and North Africa, where she led an integrated regional team, handling both global, regional and local brands in the travel & tourism, hospitality, luxury, lifestyle sectors. Clients included Jumeirah Group, Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA), Ford, Nestle, Gulf Craft, Art Dubai, Dubai Design Week and Dubai Holding. Previously Associate Director at Edelman Middle East between 2014 and 2018, Joanna was responsible for leading high profile regional campaigns for some of the biggest global consumer clients, including Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, BMW Group Middle East (BMW and MINI), and Marriott International, as well as Government entities such as Department of Culture & Tourism Abu Dhabi and ADMAF. Before moving to Dubai in 2007, Joanna had a four-year tenure at London-based WPP agency Cohn & Wolfe, executing creative PR campaigns for global brands such as Diageo PLC, Starbucks, The Royal Mail, Post Office, and Barclays Wealth. Joanna’s first role in the Middle East was at Hill + Knowlton Strategies MENA (formerly Gulf Hill & Knowlton), managing Middle East strategic communications for global brands such as InterContinental Hotels Group and LG Electronics, as well as homegrown entities such as DWTC.
Listed in PR Week’s 2022 Middle East Powerbook, Joanna has strategic understanding across both corporate and consumer communications. A personable and diligent leader, she is also known for directing teams in an organised, efficient and strategic manner to get the job done to the highest possible standard.
